1st Story by our Rider : Samir Shah
Yes, to put it in a one liner, “it was a wonderful experience to remember, cherish and to repeat in future given time and opportunity”.
Well, we all have done Abu Road to Mt. Abu on a number of occasions and we practically remember by heart every bend and every slope enroute. But the trip Guru Shikhar, in particular, was a very interesting experience. The climb to its base was not “a not to be encountered phenomena” !!! and then, the climb to the highest peak of “Arawallies” – the oldest mountain range in the world would take you to the highest station between Mt. Everest and Dodabeta Peak !!!! A climb through last 300 ft. over the steps, having “Darshana” of Dattatrey Bhagwan and offering a musical tribute by ringing the ancient bell was an icing on the cake. The climate was pre-ordered and tailor made just for us with fog and cool breeze in the face. What more does one look for !!!??? Kudos and Well played (!) to Harshbhai and Gauravbhai for organising a clinically flawless and seamless trip and the rest of us for sharing the enjoyment “in persona” and “in absentia”.

I have done the Mt. Abu climb for the first time. But i just have one line to say.
The real taste of rolling down can be tasted when you have climbed up with lot of efforts and pushing your limits. :) .Gurushikhar ride was amazing. Will never forget this ride. Weather supported a lot.
3rd Story by our Rider :Gaurav Shah
The morning of 28th July arrived, and no matter how many times one has done the Abu Road – Mt. Abu climb, there is always some amount of anxiety… and therein lies the fun of attempting it every time. All the 14 riders arrived on time, and our 4 cars zoomed off towards Abu Road. A cup of tea on the way, and 7:30 am sharp, we were at the start point. Harsh welcomed us, along with Narvat, everyone checked their bikes and we were on our way at 7:45 am… The actual climb, after a brief talk by Harsh, started around 8 am. The weather was cool, cloudy, very humid but no rains. All the riders huffed and puffed and reached the top, with timings between 1 hour 20 minutes to slightly over 3 hours. Having checked into the Hotel nearby, all the riders relaxed after Lunch, and chatted with each other. Rains came in around 1 pm and at one point, I almost felt that the 2nd ride may have to be abandoned. But, around 3 pm, the rains stopped, the weather was wonderful, and 8 riders rolled down to attempt the 2nd ride of the day. With wonderful weather, all the 8 riders again came up between 1 hour 20 min and 2 hours and had a wonderful 1st day of the rides. Amongst the first timers on this ride, Tapan & Sanjita finished both the attempts in superb timings.
After dinner, everybody again chatted, came to know each other better and then retired early.
The morning of 29th July welcomed all with superb weather with lots of clouds, lots of fog, cold weather and no rain. The rider to Gurushikhar started at around 7 am, Harsh & Nandini joined us at Delwara Temple, and all the riders proceeded towards Gurushikhar, a ride of around 18 Kms. The inclines were tough, the strain of the earlier day affected some riders but most of the riders huffed/puffed but their mind power won over their weakened muscles and they reached the Top. The top of Gurushikhar had very strong winds, chilled weather and the entire experience was just mind blowing. The rides down are always the main attraction of our Abu Climbs since one can zoom down between 35 – 50 Kms/hr and, with due precaution, have a great time.
After reaching the Hotel back, and a quick lunch, we all departed by rolling down to Abu Road, loaded the cycles on the Truck and reached Ahmedabad by 6:15 pm…
One more Abu Trip over…
One more fun trip to be cherished…
One more adventure of cycling and interacting with new members/first time members and regulars…
Overall, a wonderful experience…
